Pre-Charge Allegations of coercive and controlling behaviour are now more commonly investigated and charged.

Family proceedings were halted, as a direct result of criminal allegations being made. The Police took a heavy-handed approach, by imposing pre-charge bail conditions, which included exclusion and access to their own home, at which the complainant was not resident. Sunpritha Jutlla made a series of targeted applications which secured the client’s return to their home. Post successful negotiation, pre-charge police bail conditions were lifted.
The Pre-Charge investigation protocol was deployed to ensure that the police engaged with the defence team and conducted further focused investigation. Evidence was collated and submitted with Pre-Charge Representations, which resulted in the case being dropped. The investigation was no further actioned and the client’s reputation was untainted.
